Kontinen/Peers wrap up men’s doubles title

10 January 2016, by brisbaneinternational.com.au

Australian John Peers has successfully defended his Brisbane International doubles title, this time with new partner, Finland’s Henri Kontinen.

The No.2 seeds saw off Australian wildcard duo James Duckworth and Chris Guccione 7-6(4) 6-1 in little more than an hour, with Peers sending down the seventh ace between the pair to seal the result.

Duckworth and Guccione were attempting to become the first all-Australian pairing to claim the men’s doubles title in Brisbane while this was Peers’ first final without Brit Jamie Murray.
