Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza have claimed their 10th tour title together with victory in the Brisbane International women’s doubles final on Saturday night.
The Swiss-Indian pairing recovered from 4-2 down in the opening set to defeat the German wildcard pairing of Angelique Kerber and Andrea Petkovic 7-5, 6-1 for their 26th match win in a row, the most on the WTA Tour since 1994.
Hingis won last year’s doubles title with German Sabine Lisicki. With Mirza, she has only lost one final and the win ensures Hingis will return to joint-No.1 in the world doubles rankings with her Indian partner.
