Brisbane International 2014 fourth seed Kevin Anderson has withdrawn from his second-round match versus Australian wildcard Sam Groth.

South African Anderson, the world No.20, has been struck down by an acute stomach virus in the lead-up to his first match at the 2014 event after receiving a bye in the opening round.

As Anderson is yet to play a match, his spot in the draw will be filled by a lucky loser, Pierre-Hugues Herbert, who will face Groth in the second of tonight’s matches at Pat Rafter Arena.
