Monday’s schedule of play features Australians Casey Dellacqua, Ash Barty and Marinko Matosevic all on Pat Rafter Arena before Maria Sharapova and Grigior Dimitrov headline the night session.
Qualifier Barty takes on 2012 finalist Daniela Hantuchova, while Matosevic faces Frenchman Julien Benneteau and wildcard Dellacqua will play Galina Voskoboeva.
Third seed Sharapova plays Caroline Garcia of France, while men’s fifth seed Dimitrov must overcome Robin Haase if he’s to book his place in the second round.
The outside courts feature a former champion, a Grand Slam champion and some much-loved locals.
Women’s 2012 champ Kaia Kanepi will play qualifier Alexandra Panova, former French Open winner Francesca Schiavone faces fourth seed Jelena Jankovic and Aussies Lleyton Hewitt and Chris Guccione, James Duckworth, Monique Adamczak, Olivia Rogowska and Thanasi Kokkinakis are all in action.
