Fit and raring to go, Serena Williams is looking ominous while Samantha Stosur again seems to be dusting the cobwebs from her game ahead of her home Grand Slam campaign.

Meanwhile former world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki looks a million dollars, just like the diamond-encrusted ring on her wedding finger that has sparked speculation of a new sporting engagement.

Williams and Wozniacki both flew into Brisbane on Friday morning and hit the ground running in the afternoon with a sharp practice sessions ahead of the Brisbane International.

The ever-dominant Williams defied jet lag and recent toe surgery for an impressive centre-court hit-out on Pat Rafter Arena after declaring herself fully recovered and ready to go.

“It feels great to be back in Brisbane,” said Williams after a 6am arrival following a five-hour stopover in Dubai. “The foot is better. It is really good. It’s come through fine.”

Wozniacki, accompanied by boyfriend golfer Rory McIlroy, also looked in good touch in her first day back on Australian soil.

The Danish former world No.1 sent the tongues of sharp-eyed fans wagging by wearing a flash sapphire and diamond ring before removing it as she hopped on to court.

Their sessions were in contrast to frustrated local hope Stosur’s hour on court, two days out from the start of the Brisbane tournament, as she chided herself several times.
