Home hopes Sam Stosur and Matt Ebden will be hoping they pull their own names out of the hat for favourable first-round matches when they help conduct the official draw for the 2013 Brisbane International this morning.
There will be few easy hurdles first up for Queenslander Stosur, who on the back of her third straight top-10 finish to the year, will join seven fellow top-tenners – Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Angelique Kerber, Sara Errani, Petra Kvitova and Caroline Wozniacki – in the main draw.
Western Australia’s Ebden, having completed his best season on tour, will hope to avoid the likes of top seed Andy Murray, big-serving Milos Raonic, the crafty trio of Gilles Simon, Alexandr Dolgopolov and Kei Nishikori, or countryman Lleyton Hewitt early on.
The draw will be held at Westfield Shopping Centre Carindale from 10.30am in the Centre Court area.
Brisbane International 2013 single tickets plus series packages are now on sale. Ground passes for the event are $16.90.
