Brisbane International Trophy Tour underway

7 November 2011, by Brisbane International Tennis

The Brisbane International Trophy Tour kicked off in Queensland’s far north region from today.

This statewide interactive tennis tour allows regional communities to be involved in Queensland’s biggest tennis event, the Brisbane International.

Brisbane International Tournament Director and Tennis Queensland CEO Cameron Pearson is looking forward to sending the trophies on a tour around our sunshine state.

“The Brisbane International Trophy Tour offers communities throughout Queensland an opportunity to be part of the Brisbane International action,“ said Pearson.

“The Brisbane International has established itself second only to the Australian Open in three years of operation, with international stars such as Novak Djokovic, Sam Stosur and Justine Henin having all previously played.

“The outstanding success of the event can also be measured by the announcement of Brisbane International’s WTA upgrade status and some of this year’s player signings, with Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Kim Clijsters, Ana Ivanovic and our own Sam Stosur and Bernard Tomic.”

The Brisbane International Trophy Tour will travel throughout Queensland until Friday 9 December.
