Fourth-seeded Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova has swept into the quarterfinals of the Brisbane International with a comprehensive 6-3 6-1 victory over Hungary’s Agnes Szavay.
Hantuchova was in no mood to stick around as she wrapped the match up in one hour, 10 minutes.
A first-round casualty here last year, Hantuchova will face Germany’s Andrea Petkovic who upset eight-seed Iveta Benesova in the first round and then followed that up with a three-set victory over American Vania King.
In the other completed match this morning, Czech Lucie Safarova upset sixth-seeded Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak 6-3 6-1 to book a quarterfinal meeting with top seed Kim Clijsters.
