World No.5 and reigning French Open champion Ana Ivanovic has arrived in Queensland ahead of the Brisbane International.
Queenslanders can watch Ivanovic and a host of stars compete in their backyard when the Brisbane International is staged this January.
The event provides the perfect preview to the summer of tennis ahead and with reserved stadium seating starting at just $24.90, is the ideal gift this Christmas.
World No.3 Novak Djokovic headlines the men’s draw, along with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Spanish Davis Cup star Fernando Verdasco.
The women’s draw boasts world No.5, Ana Ivanovic, Daniela Hantuchova and former Australian Open winner Amelie Mauresmo.
The Australian contingent is led by Australian No.1 Samantha Stosur and Jarmila Gajdosova.
Patrons will also be entertained off the court with live entertainment, which includes locals Tegan Keith and Nat Dixon Duo, available from 5:00 pm on Sunday 4 January through to Tuesday 6 January.
Heineken Hill will be open throughout the tournament providing patrons with a relaxed atmosphere to drink, be merry and catch up with all the action on the giant screen.
The Courier Mail Interactive Zone, promises to be the hot spot for kids, featuring a climbing wall, jumping castle, face painting, Aviva Tennis Hot Shot courts and a B105 interactive trailer providing additional entertainment.
Tournament Director Steve Ayles said that tickets for the 2009 tournament were selling fast and exceeding all expectations.
“With a brand new tennis centre, stadium and tournament you never really know what to expect,” Ayles said.
